A nonogram (also called picross, hanjie or griddlers) hides a picture behind number clues. The clue 4 2 on a row means a run of four filled squares, then at least one gap, then a run of two. Work the rows against the columns and the picture appears. Every solution in this volume is a symmetrical geometric pattern, such as a rosette, a cross or a pinwheel.
Easy has a definition here. A solver checked every puzzle, and the ones in this book come out under line solving alone: you look at a single row or column, work out what the clue and the width force, and mark it. That is the technique the rest of the hobby is built on, and fifty puzzles is enough to make it automatic.
